Friday Five 8/10/18

Happy Friday!

I am usually happier on Fridays but I take the MPRE tomorrow so I am seriously stressing about that at the moment- wish me luck!

In other news, I had a very productive week around the house and I am starting to get myself ready to go back to school very soon. I came across a few exciting things for my Friday Five this week so here they are!

1. Anne with an E

So I am not sure how I have missed this on Netflix until now but this is seriously the cutest show. I absolutely love historical dramas and this one is just so lighthearted and fun. I binged right through the first 2 seasons in less than a week. I loved reading Anne of Green Gables as a young girl and this just brings it to life so well and the casting is spot on. I have my fingers crossed for season 3!

Basic Etiquette Tips for a Law Student or New Lawyer

So one thing I did not expect going into law school was how many professional events I would end up attending. I knew there would be professional events and I made sure I had a suit ready but I guess I never really thought through what those events would actually entail... news flash it entails a lot of rules that I did not know.

I grew up on my parent's horse farm. My childhood was full of horses, dirty boots and a lot of time outside- I loved every minute. My parents taught me good manners and all that jazz but our life had no reason for me to know fine dining rules or fancy etiquette or what to do with the mini fork above your plate. To some people, this probably seems crazy but in my family, there just wasn't a reason to learn fancy etiquette. Once in college, I attended a few events where there were more forks than I knew what to do with but I just kind of went with it and didn't think too much into it.

What's in My Bag- Internship Edition

Good morning friends!

So my summer internship is now over...but as I was cleaning out my purse in preparation for school starting, I realized I never did a "whats in my bag" for my summer internship. I always love seeing these posts on other peoples blogs because I am a naturally nosy person and I always find it super interesting. This isn't my most original post but maybe there are people out there that find them as interesting as I do. So better late than never, here is what I carried with me in my bag to my internship as a law clerk for a local judge every day this summer.

6 Goals for My 3L Year of Law School

Happy Monday!

I start my 3L year in just 14 days so I am sitting down to lay out some goals. I think it is important to always set some goals in place when entering a new phase or semester. When I set goals, I try to make sure they are achievable. For my 3L year, I am setting 6 simple but important goals.

Friday Five 8/3/2018

Happy Friday! How is it August already??? This Summer FLEW by. I can't believe I start my 3L year in 2 weeks. I tend to forget my little "Friday Five" posts but I remembered today! Here are a few favorites from this week!

1. Mini-Vacation
Last weekend, I went with my parents on a quick 3 day get-away to my grandparent's cottage on Lake Michigan. I read books on the beach, picked fresh blueberries, ate the best ice cream, made smores and enjoyed some wonderful family time. It was the perfect little getaway before 3L year stars.
